5-stars is not nearly enough of a high rating for Elaine and Cameron. My fiancée and I were nervous travelling once the lockdown restrictions eased, but when we arrived, we were totally at peace with the lodging, but more so with our amazing hosts. All the considerate touches made us feel so special. My fiancée is a very particular woman and was so impressed with the decor that she’s buying most of it for our home ?.

Brilliant — lodge amazing. So many nice touches and immaculate. Wanted for nothing. Hosts Elaine and Cameron couldn’t have been nicer and were very knowledgeable about the area. Best lodge stayed in by far.

Superb luxury accommodation. Attention to detail second to none. Idyllic location with a plethora of wildlife right on doorstep literally – nightly film footage of visiting wildcat and pheasants that can be hand fed.
Set on the edge of the Cairngorm National Park means that it is only 30 min drive to Glenshee ski resort.

We enjoyed a perfect stay at Cairnhill Lodge in summer, taking advantage of the long hours of daylight to squeeze in so many activities. Cameron & Elaine are extremely knowledgeable about the local area and advised us on a manageable circular cycle route right from the doorstep. The scenery was stunning, with heather on the hillsides, babbling brooks, quaint pubs, castles and lochs.

Absolutely beautiful place with countless nice touches. A great base to explore the area and hike, with lots of nearby restaurants and activities to try. It was a great cosy space to come back to in the evenings, with very powerful wifi, games, and a lovely fire. Very welcoming and attentive hosts! Would definitely go back.

Such a lovely hidden gem in the middle of beautiful Scotland, very friendly and an outstanding luxurious Alpine style chalet full of special details.

We leave with our senses enriched with the lovely things, beautiful hills, stories of this glen, wildcat visits, a cheeky otter, and a ghost or two …

Never before have we felt so ‘at home’ in an AirBnB stay. This place has the beautiful surroundings, idyllic walks through forests right on the doorstep, the amazing wildlife coming into the garden so you can see red squirrels and pheasants while sipping your morning coffee – and all of that is incredible. But it genuinely feels like a warm home rather than a holiday stay, and that’s a pretty special thing Elaine and Cameron have achieved. It’s evident in all the little touches of care and attention from the kitchen utensils (better stocked than our own home!) to the artwork on the walls.

We came for our daughter’s first birthday and she loved it here. It is 100% child friendly and the cot and high-chair were appreciated. Our hosts offered tips for sourcing great local produce and maps for walking routes, and clearly they love where they live because their passion for all the beauty here shines through. In short, a wonderful stay and our family would love to return. Cosy fire, well stocked house, and such lovely hosts.

We have been incredibly fortunate to manage to book this lodge at the last minute. The lodge itself has had everything (and more) that we could possibly have needed. It is obvious that a lot of TLC has gone into giving guests a relaxing and comfortable experience.

Thanks Cameron and Elaine for being great hosts and for the walking suggestions. We’ve seen some unbelievable scenery and it took the sting out of the kids’ energy! 🙂

Thank you for a wonderful stay! The lodge is so perfect and peaceful and had everything we needed for a relaxing break. Location wise we couldn’t have asked for more. We ventured to Glen Clova and Braemar in what felt like no time!

Definitely recommend Loch Shandra for a spot of wild swimming!

It’s been wonderful 3 days enjoying the quiet evenings and waking up to the birds singing. We couldn’t have been more fortunate to stay at the lodge and feel so welcome by Elaine and Cameron.

The area is fantastic with local shops not that far away, places for amazing walks and truly connecting with nature. It’s all you really need to live!
